‘Cloth, Haverhill and the Industrial Revolution‘

You may be aware that Haverhill is often described as a weaving town. This new talk from the Haverhill Local History Museum will investigate what this meant in practice and the subsequent relationship between the history of cloth and the history of Haverhill.

We will cover everything from discovering what Stone Age Man was actually wearing, to the final end of weaving in the early 1980’s. After hearing the facts,  you can decide if the Industrial Revolution was good, or bad for the town – the answer may not be as simple as you might think.
